Overview
Japan's Specified Skilled Worker programme opened genuine long-term opportunities for Bangladeshi workers in care work, food service, construction, agriculture, hospitality and manufacturing. Wages are the highest of any destination we handle and conditions are strongly regulated.
The barrier is language. You must pass the Japanese Foundation Test (JFT-Basic or JLPT N4) plus a sector skills test before a visa is possible. That means six to twelve months of serious study before you can apply - there is no shortcut, and anyone selling you one is selling a fraud.
Why Japan?
Highest wages of any destination
Entry-level SSW roles typically pay two to three times Gulf equivalents.
Path to long-term residence
SSW category 2 permits renewal without limit and allows family accompaniment.
Equal treatment in law
Foreign workers are entitled to the same wages and conditions as Japanese nationals in the same role.
Full social insurance
Health insurance and pension enrolment are mandatory.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I go to Japan without learning Japanese?
No. JFT-Basic or JLPT N4 is a legal requirement for the SSW visa, and student visas require at least N5. Anyone offering Japan without a language requirement is describing something that does not exist.
How long does the language study take?
Realistically six to twelve months of consistent study to reach N4 from zero. Budget for that time and cost before committing - it is the largest hidden expense on this route.
Can I take my family?
Not under SSW category 1. Category 2, available in certain sectors after gaining experience and further certification, does permit family accompaniment and unlimited renewal.
What are the wages really?
Entry-level SSW roles typically pay JPY 170,000-220,000 per month gross, roughly ৳ 1,30,000-1,70,000. Tax, insurance and accommodation are deducted, so net remittance is lower than the gross figure suggests - but still well above Gulf levels.
Check all employer documents and agency licence before payment. Never send money to a personal mobile wallet number.
